Greek Cypriot court upholds Hezbollah suspect’s US extradition
Greek Cyprus' supreme court on May 29 upheld an order to extradite a suspected Hezbollah member to the U.S. on money laundering charges, official media said.
A five-judge bench unanimously dismissed an appeal against a decision by a lower court in September 2019 to extradite the man, identified only by his surname Diab, the Greek Cyprus News Agency said.
Turkey nabs terrorist after 20 years in hiding
A convicted terrorist who was in hiding for over 20 years was arrested in the city of Muş, southeastern Turkey on March 25, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.
In 2000, the man, identified by the initials Y.Y., was convicted of "being a member of the Hezbollah terrorist organization" and sentenced in absentia to six years and three months in prison.

Ankara condemns terrorist attack in Nigeria
Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Feb. 10 condemned the attack in Nigeria's northeastern Borno region that killed at least 30 people.
"We are saddened by the terrorist attack that took place in Nigeria's Borno state on Feb. 9 which claimed many lives and left several people injured," the ministry said in a statement.

Turkey condemns terrorist attack in Mali
Turkey on Jan. 27 condemned a terrorist attack in Mali that killed at least 20 soldiers.
"We are saddened to receive the news that many soldiers lost their lives and injured in a terrorist attack on the Sokolo military camp in the Segou region of Mali," Turkey's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

12 injured as protesters, police clash in Lebanon
At least 12 protesters were injured on Jan. 22 in Lebanon's capital Beirut after a clash with security forces near the parliament building.
The protesters were demonstrating against the new Hassan Diab's government that was formed with the support of Hezbollah and its political allies.

Protesters vacate US Embassy compound in Iraq
Iran-backed militias withdrew from the compound of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, the Iraqi army said.
The protesters also dismantled their tents outside the Green Zone in Baghdad on the edge of the Tigris River, the Iraqi Ground Forces Command said in a written statement.

Outraged Iraqi protesters storm US Embassy in Baghdad
Hundreds of Iraqi mourners stormed the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on Dec. 31, following deadly U.S. airstrikes this week that killed 25 fighters from an Iran-backed Shiite militia in Iraq.
Shouting "Down, Down USA!" the crowd tried to push inside the embassy grounds, hurling water bottles and smashing security cameras outside.
Boko Haram kills six in Christmas Eve attack in Nigeria
At least six people were killed and three wounded when Boko Haram insurgents attacked a community in northeastern Nigeria on Christmas Eve.
The insurgents raided Kwaaagilim village near the town of Chibok in Borno state on Dec. 25.
Borno Governor Babagana Zulum confirmed the incident Wednesday during a visit to the area.
Ankara condemns terrorist attack in Chad
Turkey on Dec. 19 condemned a terrorist attack in Chad which left over dozens of civilians dead.
"We are saddened to receive the news that many people lost their lives and injured in a terrorist attack against a fishing village on the shores of Lake Chad," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Ex-Hezbollah leader slams Iranian supreme chief
Former Secretary-General of Lebanon's Shia Hezbollah movement criticized Iran's supreme leader on Nov. 10 for being behind corruption in Lebanon and Iraq, where anti-government and corruption protests are ongoing.
