A fox in the historical Gallipoli Peninsula, where the Dardanelles Wars took place, became a social media sensation in Turkey as it has hundreds of its photos shared online.

The fox was first seen in the peninsula in 2017 and has been friendly towards people since they began feeding it.

Turkey's president on March 17 marked 105th anniversary of Çanakkale Victory and Martyrs' Day and remembered the fallen soldiers who lost their lives during naval and ground battles in Çanakkale (Gallipoli Campaign) during the World War I.

Visitors from Australia and New Zealand on April 25 morning attended a dawn ceremony marking the 104th anniversary of the World War One Battle of Gallipoli at Anzac Cove in the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey's northwestern province of Çanakkale.

Top officials and representatives of countries gathered on April 24 at the site of one of World War I's bloodiest battles to pay respects to the thousands - Turkish, British, Australian, and New Zealand soldiers - who died fighting in the Gallipoli land campaign over 100 years ago.

The Gallipoli war also holds a special place in the hearts of the Turkish people who fought to defend the homeland. In the last days of the Ottoman Empire young Turks were able to stop the superpowers of the time, British and French armies, with their determination.

People flocked to the historical peninsula of Gallipoli ahead of the 104th-year anniversary ceremonies to be held today due to the Martyrs' Day and Çanakkale Victory.

Each year thousands of Australians, New Zealanders, British, Indian and French citizens visit Gallipoli to commemorate their ancestors who lost their lives in the Gallipoli Campaign of 1915. After the Battle of Gallipoli in 1915, the peace and friendship bridge established between Turkey, Australia and New Zealand strengthens.

Over 1,000 visitors from Australia and New Zealand attended a dawn service in Turkey's western province of Çanakkale on April 25 to commemorate the 103rd anniversary of the landing of foreign troops on Turkish soil during World War I.

Thousands gathered to remember the fallen Anzac and Turkish troops of the Gallipoli campaign of 1915 at a memorial service on April 24.
