Exhobitant rent hikes force tenants to share rooms
Rental pressures are forcing people to switch from sharing apartments, a common practice among university students, to sharing rooms, just like in dormitories, with sometimes up to eight people struggling to accommodate in a single room.

Property values in Cyprus jump in June
Across Cyprus, property values increased year-on-year in June by 12.2% for apartments, 4.6% for houses, 4.4% for offices, 1.2% for retail, 8.8% for holiday apartments and 3.7% for holiday homes, while those of warehouses decreased 1.5%, according to the Ask Wire Q2 2023 index.

A fifth-floor apartment in the central Athens neighborhood of Patisia was enveloped by flames on Thursday afternoon for yet unknown reasons.
The Hellenic Fire Service responded immediately to keep the blaze from spreading to the rest of the building.

Housing stock not enough
The pool of homes that qualify for the government's My Home ("Spiti Mou") program is smaller than in the recent past. This is the program that, in cooperation with the banks, subsidizes mortgage rates to help young people (up to the age of 39) enter the housing market. It concerns properties worth up to 200,000 euros, at least 15 years old (built before 2007) and up to 150 square meters

Bulgaria: Fire in an Apartment Building in Sofia - There is a Victim
Fire in a block of flats in the "Vrabnitsa" district of the capital. An apartment on the fifth floor burned down.
The fire was reported at 9:39 a.m. Two fire engines have arrived at the scene. People from the block say that the firefighters were able to quickly control the elements.
An elderly woman was found dead in the burned apartment.
Human rights institution fines those rejecting ‘single tenants’
A human rights institution has made a landmark decision by fining a real estate agent and landlords who rejected renting their apartment to a woman on the grounds that she was unmarried.
