Minister of Defense Nikos Dendias asked the head of the Greek Armed Forces to conduct a full review of the management of military hospitals after two patients revealed they had received months-long delayed cancer diagnosis at the same health facility. 

A 55-year-old police officer who underwent surgery at Thessaloniki General Military Hospital in December 2022 for acute appendicitis only to be informed a year later that a biopsy had shown he had cancer has filed a lawsuit against hospital doctors and others involved in the case.

The 55-year-old police officer describes in his lawsuit the tragic sequence of events and the negligence of the doctors that turned his life into a nightmare, after he entered the hospital for an appendectomy and was infor
