Tulips in bloom in country’s largest botanical gardens
Thousands of tulips of various shapes and colours will be in bloom for more than a month at Arboretum Volčji Potok, Slovenia's largest and most popular botanical gardens.
The arboretum opened its annual Spring Flower Show on 8 April but the tulips were planted in such a way that they will be in bloom for over a month.

Volčji Potok – An exhibition of flowers opened in Arboretum Volčji Potok on Saturday to mark the 30th anniversary of Slovenia’s independence. It will be on display in ten different spots around the botanical gardens, with visitors being able to admire some 50,000 different flowers that present the natural and cultural heritage of the country.
Roses from all EU member states on display in Volčji Potok
Volčji Potok – An exhibition of roses from all European Union member states has opened in the Arboretum Volčji Potok botanical gardens to mark the Slovenian presidency of the Council of the EU and present rose growing culture as an integrating element in the EU.
Entitled the EU in Roses, the exhibition comes upon an initiative of the Culture Ministry. It will run until 31 October.

Vitosha Nature Park: The Bear Museum and The Museum of Owls Open for Visitors
From June 15, 2020, Vitosha Nature Park resumes visits to the Owl Museum and the Bear Museum in the Park.
The bear museum was built on the site of a half-destroyed canton.It is located only 2 km from the Arboretum area on the road to the Golden Bridges.
A 391 year old Bonsai tree with a story to tell… (PHOTOS)
The tree was planted by the Yamaki family in 1625. When the USAF dropped the Bomb on Hiroshima, the Yamaki family lived just two miles from ground zero. Miraculously both the family and the tree survived the explosion that killed around 140.000 people.
