Storms cause problems in Pieria, northern Greece
Heavy storms caused floods in many parts of northern Greece on Monday and into the early hours of Tuesday, but particularly in the region of Pieria, where the mayor of one of the hardest-hit municipalities said that the emergency messaging system was out of order.

Rare late bronze age crown found in Pieria (photo)
A rare diadem dated to the later bronze age (1,500-1,200 BC) was brought to light at Pydna Pieria, and will be put of public display at the Archaeological Museum of Dion in central Macedonia. The coronet was unearthed among among a trove of other valuable personal items found in the grave of a young girl. It had three layers of jewelries across it and covered the forehead of the skeleton.

Salvaged ancient artifacts from metro in Macedonia
The Dion Archaeological Museum's "Opening Roads" exhibition of findings from salvage excavations from 2008-2013 kicks off in Northern Greece at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 8. The artifacts on show were found at roadworks carried out to build a segment of the national road.
