Following last year’s devastating natural disaster that struck the region and its people, the film festival aims to inspire young people to keep chasing their dreams despite the challenges they face.

Teams on Feb. 16 identified the location of the wreckage of the "Batuhan A" cargo ship that sank in the Marmara Sea as the extensive search continues for the six missing crew members.

The vessel carrying marble powder from Marmara Island in Balıkesir to Bursa in northwest Türkiye on Feb. 15 took on water and sank off Imralı island, south of Istanbul after getting caught in a storm.

Greek visual artist Christodoulos Galtemis (b. 1954) presents his 20th solo exhibition under the broad title "Flowers and Fruit" at the Argo Gallery (argo-gallery.gr). The visual images the artist presents are detailed and precise, yet at the same time initiating viewers into a subtle dialogue of light and shadow deconstructing realism before their eyes. The opening is on December 5 at 7 p.m.

The world's oceans are heating up at an accelerating pace as global warming threatens a diverse range of marine life and a major food supply for the planet, researchers said Thursday, reports AFP. 

The findings in the US journal Science, led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, debunk previous reports that suggested a so-called pause in global warming in recent years.

A vision straight from the pages of Apollonius, it could easily be Jason and his Argonauts outracing the Colchian fleet in their famous arrival at the island. The name of Jason's ship, Argo, means "swift," and these vessels are all worthy of the name.

Greece will not be represented in the Eurovision song contest finals for the first time since the competition’s its inception.  ‘Argo’, the group that performed the song ‘Utopian Land’ did not impress the voting fans in the preliminary finals and was left out of the finals.

The song ‘Utopian Land’ performed by ARGO band was chosen to represent Greece to Eurovision 2016 contest to be held in Stockholm from 10 to 14 May.

The song includes Greek and English lyrics and refers to the refugee issue combining hip hop and folk music.
