Russian Air Force will redeploy more than 100 aircraft to operational air fields over the next 24 hours as part of snap drills, the Defence Ministry announced on Tuesday.

Moscow on Nov. 12 denied it was ramping up its military presence in neighbouring Ukraine after NATO sounded the alarm over columns of Russian military equipment entering the ex-Soviet country over the past two days.
      

A Russian Defence Ministry official dismissed on Tuesday a complaint by Ottawa that Russian military aircraft had acted provocatively by flying near a Canadian warship sailing in the Black Sea.
   
Canadian Defence Minister Rob Nicholson said on Monday that Russian aircraft had on Sunday circled the frigate Toronto as it took part in a military exercise in the Black Sea.

Germany has stopped a major deal to provide a fully equipped training camp to Russian forces due to the crisis in Ukraine, the government said Monday.
      
Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel said he has withdrawn his authorisation for the training camp project, which had already been put on hold in March after Moscow's annexation of Ukraine's Crimea region.

The EU announced on Saturday that it widens its sanctions list against Russia to include Russian chiefs of intelligence services. 

The list was published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Russia marks Victory Day, "demonstrates military might"

MOSCOW -- Europe is celebrating Victory Day over WW2 fascism, and in Moscow, a large military parade was held that was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of  some CIS member states watched scheduled Russian military drills on countering nuclear strike, reports ITAR-TASS.

The planned drills come ahead of the May 9 celebrations dedicated to victory in World War II.
