BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday Serbia's new Lazar 3 armoured personnel carrier was garnering major interest abroad.

Defence ministers of NATO states met on Thursday in Brussels with representatives of 25 companies from the defence industry, including Croatia's Djuro Djakovic, with whom they discussed strengthening military aid to Ukraine.

"The administration of (Joseph) Biden, after several weeks of internal discussions on how to equip the Abrams tanks that the US supplies to Kyiv, is expected to provide Ukraine with shells with depleted uranium," the text states.

The government's decision to cancel a deal on the purchase of armoured personnel carriers closed by the previous government in its dying days will cost Slovenia a little more than €4 million, considerably less than the €70 million some initially thought the cancellation would cost.

Slovenia has sent 20 six-wheeled light armoured personnel carriers (APC) to Ukraine, the 24.ur portal reported on 26 April, while the Defence Ministry declined to comment. Completed in secrecy, this is the latest shipment of arms after Slovenia has already donated tanks, howitzers, infantry vehicles and other gear.

In the announcement of the Russian Embassy in London, the statement of the Deputy British Defense Minister James Heappey about sending weapons with depleted uranium to Ukraine is recalled. According to the embassy, Heappey's words show the ruthless policy of the Anglo-Saxons on the general escalation of the "conflict through intermediaries" that they initiated in Ukraine.

The agency states, citing a well-informed source, that Russian troops have begun using the latest Armata tanks to open fire on Ukrainian positions, but that these tanks have not yet participated in direct offensive operations.
The same source said that the T-14 Armata tanks received additional side protection against anti-tank ammunition.

The United States will begin training Ukrainian forces on how to use and maintain Abrams tanks in the coming weeks, as it continues to speed up its effort to get them onto the battlefield as quickly as possible, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Friday.

It is added that Russian fighters with the support of a T-72 tank and several BMP-3 combat vehicles launched an assault on the enemy fortification.
Information is being transmitted on social networks that it is "Ural", a mechanized unit that took part in occupying enemy positions.

Germany has delivered promised Leopard battle tanks to Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Monday, providing Kiev with much-needed heavy weaponry against Russia.

"Yes, we delivered Leopard tanks as we announced," Scholz told a press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in Rotterdam when asked to confirm a report in news outlet Spiegel.
