The polarization of the long-divided fronts in the six-year-long war in Syria is continuing, as several armed factions decided to merge with the former al-Qaeda affiliate Jabet Fateh al-Sham. 

The Syria-wide cease-fire agreement has been signed by 13 armed opposition groups, Osama Abou Zaid, a representative from the Syrian opposition's truce negotiating team, told reporters late on Dec. 29. 

The agreement, that is two-page-long and consists of five articles, covers all regions in Syria and applies to all opposition groups, he said.

The armed coalition Jaish al-Fatah has assumed responsibility for the assassination of the Russian Ambassdor in Ankara, reported BNR.

Jaish al-Fatah includes the renamed grouping Jabhat al-Nusra -the Syrian branch of the international terrorist network al-Qaeda.

Following Russia's intervention in Syria, now the U.S. announced last week that it will deploy troops in northern Syria. Right after this, Turkey's Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlio?lu said two days ago that Turkey plans to take military action against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in the upcoming days. 

Syrian government troops backed by Russian air strikes advanced against rebels on Oct. 11, as a rights group accused Moscow of being behind a new type of cluster bomb in the conflict.

The US-led coalition against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) hit a weapons depot belonging to a rebel group allied with Al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate overnight in northwestern Syria, a monitor said on August 12.
