Sinop’s mosaics belong to dining room of wealthy family
The Hellenistic-era pebble mosaics found during the archaeological excavations in the Balatlar Building Complex in the northern province of Sinop have been revealed to belong to the "dining room of a wealthy family."
Gustave Klimt painting fetches $53.2 million
The world-famous landscape painting "Insel im Attersee," Islands on the Lake Attersee, by the Australian painter Gustav Klimt has been purchased for $ 53.2 million at an auction organized by Sotheby's Auction House.
A Japanese collector on May 17 paid $53.2 million for the purchase of the early 20th-centru painting, the auction house in New York announced.

John Craxton’s first-ever exhibition in Istanbul
Meşher, a multidisciplinary art space in Istanbul, is celebrating the life and work of painter and designer John Craxton (1922-2009) with an exhibition titled "Drawn to Light."
Launched on April 5, the late British artist's first solo exhibition in Türkiye will be on display until July 23.

A man who earns a living by sewing quilts in the Mediterranean province of Antalya has been carrying out his profession for 45 years under redbud trees that have dotted the city for decades.
The 58-year-old Veli Yıldırım, who began working with a needle and thread for the first time at the age of 13, said that almost all his life was spent by sewing quilts.
