More than 40,000 pigs will be put down in Varna, the reason African swine fever case.
A few days ago, new cases of ASF were registered in the village of Brestak.
The pig farm is one of the largest in the area. It employs about 130 people.
After the new case of the ASF, authorities banned the transportation of animals.
Russia Bans The Import of Pigs and Pork Products from Bulgaria
The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance - Rosselkhoznadzor has introduced a ban on the delivery of live pigs and pork from Bulgaria and Slovakia to Russia. The measures are taken due to the African swine fever (ASF) disease, TASS reported. The restrictions are temporary but have been in force since 9 August
The Cases of African Swine Fever in Wild Boar are Now 32
With the new outbreaks, the cases of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar are now 32, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Atanas Dobrev told the Bulgarian National Television.
Without the commitment of the whole Bulgarian community, no good results could be expected, he said.

This happened during yesterday's Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting in Brussels. The Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Desislava Taneva focuses on additional food control measures that cross the borders.

Bulgaria Reports First Case of African Swine Fever
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) found the first case of African swine fever in wild boar near Kainardja, Silistra, the press office of the agency announced on 23rd of October. The dead wild pig was found right next to the wire fence itself, on the border with Romania, where it had become entangled in attempting to pass through to the territory of Bulgaria.

Samples from 3-km Quarantine Zone Test Negative for African Swine Fever, Says Bulgarian Food Safety Agency
Varna. All samples taken from the pigs in the village of Bozveliysko, Provadia municipality, Varna region, have been tested for African swine fever (ASF) at the National Reference Laboratory and came out negative, said the press office of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA).
