Turkish energy minister 'to visit Israel for pipeline deal'
Energy Minister Berat Albayrak is set to visit Israel by the end of this year to conclude an agreement for the building of a natural gas pipeline from the Jewish state to Turkey, the Israeli energy minister said on July 12.
Former Israeli PM Olmert freed from jail on parole
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, 71, was released on parole on July 2 from a prison in Ramle, near Tel Aviv, after serving 16 months in jail for corruption.
Olmert was found guilty in 2014 of accepting bribes from real estate developers when he was Jerusalem's mayor, before his 2006-09 term as prime minister and head of a centrist political party.

Former Israeli PM Olmert, 71, wins early release from prison
Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who is serving a 27-month prison term for corruption, won parole on June 29, one of his lawyers said.
Israel Radio reported that Olmert could be freed as early as July 2 after a parole board decided to cut his sentence by a third, a common practice in Israel for prisoners who have not committed violent crimes.

Journalists' trial over alleged Gülen links starts
Seventeen suspects, including jailed journalists Nazlı Ilıcak, Ahmet Altan and Mehmet Altan, for the first time appeared before court in Istanbul on June 19, in a case into the alleged "media leg" of what prosecutors call the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), believed to be behind the July 15, 2016 coup attempt.

Some 17 suspects, including jailed journalists Nazlı Ilıcak, Ahmet Altan and Mehmet Altan, will appear before an Istanbul court on June 19 for the first time in a case into the media leg of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), which is widely believed to have perpetrated the July 15, 2016, failed coup.

Left-leaning former human rights lawyer Moon Jae-In won South Korea's presidential election by a landslide, an exit poll predicted when polls closed Tuesday.
Moon, of the Democratic Party, had 41.4% support, according to the joint survey by three television stations. Conservative Hong Joon-Pyo was far behind on 23.3%, with centrist Ahn Cheol-Soo third on 21.8%.
