Don’t dread the dragon!

Dragon days have kicked in! Chinese New Year started on Feb. 10, and now we are in the dragon days as 2024 is the year of the Wood Dragon according to the Chinese Zodiac. The legendary dragon seems like a fierce animal with fire spewing from its mouth, but do not dread the dragon, on the contrary, the dragon might well be your protective angel.

Rare blue supermoon dazzles stargazers

Astronomy enthusiasts were in for a treat on Aug. 30 night: a rare "super blue Moon" that won't be seen again for more than a decade.

Supermoons occur when the Moon passes through its perigee, or the point that takes it closest to Earth during its elliptical orbit. This makes it look about 14 percent bigger compared to when it is at its furthest point, and a touch brighter.

Two supermoons in August mean double the stargazing fun

The cosmos is offering up a double feature in August: A pair of supermoons culminating in a rare blue moon.

Catch the first show tomorrow evening as the full moon rises in the southeast, appearing slightly brighter and bigger than normal. That's because it will be closer than usual, just 222,159 miles (357,530 kilometers) away, thus the supermoon label.

A wedding in 2025? Not astrologically ideal for me

Last year, Alice Bell told Jesse Zannino that he needed to propose by May 2023.

"My astrology for getting married is really good in 2024 but not in 2025," Bell explained in an interview. The beginning of their relationship was also based on astrological guidance - she timed their first date with the new moon in February 2021 - so Zannino took the suggestion in stride.

Watch Flower Super Moon Tonight

The next full moon, otherwise known as the Flower Moon, is set to grace our skies tonight, May 26, reaching its official peak at around 11:30 pm. It will also be the second supermoon of the year.

A full moon occurs every 29.5 days and happens when the Moon is completely illuminated by the Sun's rays. It occurs when the Earth is directly aligned between the Sun and the Moon.
