Athens Epidaurus Festival

The new film by Romain Gavras, titled Sacrifice, will feature a strong Greek flavor, with lead actors including Chris Evans, Anya Taylor-Joy, Salma Hayek, Vincent Cassel, John Malkovich, Charli XCX, and more.

Strong Born, a new work by Greek choreographer Katerina Papageorgiou, AKA Kat Valastur, explores themes of sacrifice and empowerment through a feminist lens at the Pireos 260 venue.

The Charles Lloyd Sky Quartet will perform under the starlit Athenian sky with Greece's Maria Farantouri at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus on July 18, as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival (aefestival.gr), along with special guest Sokratis Sinopoulos.

The Indie Playground Festival, part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival, returns for a second year to Playground 260 (260 Pireos) on June 1-2. The event features performances by renowned and emerging Greek indie, alternative rock, pop and electronica artists, including Larry Gus, Deaf Radio, AMKA, Whereswilder, Prompt, Kooba Tercu, Metaman and Vassilina. Admission is free.

Since their formation in 1998, the group has fearlessly explored themes of animism and eco-feminism, blending genres from electronic to avant-classical.
