UK issues safety guidelines for Chelsea vs Panathinaikos match in Athens
The UK Foreign Office has issued safety guidelines for Chelsea fans visiting Athens ahead of the Europa Conference League match with Panathinaikos on Thursday.
The UK government's department responsible for managing the UK's foreign affairs, updated its travel information for Greece on Monday.
OAKA to undergo major overhaul through 2026
Plans are under way to transform the OAKA Olympic Stadium in northern Athens into a dual-purpose facility. Apart from renovations aimed at improving it as a recreational and sports facility, the 100-hectare complex will also be used as an emergency shelter during crises like earthquakes, floods or fires.

Twenty years later
Making better use of the OAKA Olympic Stadium is two decades overdue. It is high time that the venues left from the 2004 Athens Olympics are inducted into the city's day-to-day existence in a functional, socially beneficial and economically sustainable way. They no longer need to stand as symbols of the country's deficiencies; they can be transformed.

Miss Lebanon: Married in Greece – Reception at OAKA
Miss Lebanon, Maya Reaidy, married Fehmi Karagoulah in a lavish wedding held in Greece.
The 29-year-old formalized her bond with the grandson of the founder of the newspaper “An Nahar” over the weekend. The ceremony took place at a hotel on the Athenian Riviera, followed by a reception at OAKA.

The glow of the fireworks has gone for good over the OAKA Olympic stadium in northern Athens. Santiago Calatrava's iconic canopy has been left "naked," without the polycarbonate panels. The current management of the Olympic complex now says it will try to wake up the "white elephant" from its 20-year slumber. All the previous ones had said the same.

Clashes between fans and police outside OAKA in northern Athens
Clashes took place on Friday afternoon outside Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA), between the police and Panathinaikos fans who tried to enter the Olympic indoor hall without tickets to watch the Game 5 of the Greek Basket League finals against Olympiacos.
According to some reports, there have been injuries among the fans.
Police maintains a heavy presence in the area.
Conference League final to affect ISAP services
Athens will enforce traffic measures for Wednesday's UEFA Europa Conference League final between Olympiakos and Italy's Fiorentina at the AEK Arena in Nea Filadelfia, western Athens.
Line 1 of the Athens metro (also known as the ISAP electrical railway) will serve the public until 5 p.m., then transport fans exclusively.

Thousands of Panathinaikos fans gathered at Athens Eleftherios Venizelos airport on Monday, to greet their basketball team that won the Euroleague championship.
The fans had gathered from early afternoon to celebrate the 7th Euroleague title of Panathinaikos, who beat Real Madrid 80-95 on Sunday's final.
