Attacks on schools during the Israeli invasion of Gaza
Gaza rescuers say 18 killed in Israeli strike on school
Israel bombed a school housing displaced Palestinians in central Gaza, which rescuers said killed 18 people, including U.N. staffers, while the Israeli army said it hit a Hamas control centre.
The Al-Jawni school in Nuseirat had already been bombed several times over the course of the 11-month war in Gaza.
Thousands of Gazan children miss another school year
More than 600,000 children in the war-torn Gaza strip could miss a whole school term for another year if the conflict continues, with some teachers setting up tent schools in ever-shrinking areas declared safe by the Israeli army.
