ATM blast outside supermarket in Pyrgos causes damage, no injuries

An explosion at a bank ATM outside a supermarket in Pyrgos, southern Greece, in the early hours of Thursday, caused damage to the façade of the store but no injuries.

According to the police, the unknown perpetrators channeled flammable gas into the machine before igniting it to cause the explosion.

They fled with an undetermined sum of cash from the ATM.

Police seek suspects in ATM blasts

Police in Attica on Thursday were seeking the perpetrators who blew open two cash machines outside a supermarket in Varybombi, north of Athens.

The explosions early Thursday morning destroyed the ATMs and also blew out the glass facade of an adjacent store but there were no reports of any injuries.

It was unclear if the perpetrators managed to flee with cash. 

Nearly 100 000 Leva are Stolen from an ATM in Pleven

Nearly 100 000 leva were stolen from an ATM in Pleven, spokesman for the local prosecutor's office, Reni Kirilova, said on Wednesday.

The crime was committed on Monday. The ATM is located in the Storgozia district of Pleven. According to the investigators, the device was not destroyed or blasted, but was opened by a technical means.
