In Cappadocia, known for its scenic beauty and iconic fairy chimneys, glass waste and discarded bottles left by visitors are being repurposed into decorative items and other products, crafted by blending them with the region's rich local soil.

Cultural Road Festivals to start in Cappadocia
The Cultural Road Festivals, which started with the Beyoğlu Cultural Road Festival two years ago to contribute to Türkiye's international brand value, will be organized this year in 11 cities, namely Nevşehir, Trabzon, Erzurum, Çanakkale, Gaziantep, Ankara, Konya, Diyarbakır, Istanbul, İzmir and Antalya.

Some 111,000 tourists visit Uçhisar Castle
Around 111,000 people have visited Uçhisar Castle, considered the world's tallest natural skyscraper located at the summit of Cappadocia, in the first half of the year, the local municipality has announced.
According to the information obtained from Uçhisar Municipality, approximately 111,000 local and foreign tourists visited Uçhisar Castle in the January-June period.

Balloon crash kills 2 Spanish tourists in Cappadocia
Two Spanish tourists died while three others got injured on Oct. 18 as the hot air balloon they boarded in the Cappadocia region made a bumpy landing amid strong winds, the governor's office has informed.

Turkey's world-famous Cappadocia region, home to fabled fairy chimneys and stunning balloon rides, welcomed over 60,000 tourists this May, local tourism officials said in a statement on June 11.
According to authorities in the central Nevşehir province, 61,634 people visited 17 top tourist sites in Cappadocia.
