Amusement park owner remanded over fatal August accident
The owner of the amusement park that claimed the life of a 19-year-old last August in Halkidiki, northern Greece, has been remanded in custody pending trial after testifying before an investigating magistrate.
His wife and the operator of the ride were released on bail, however, with the latter also required to report regularly to his local police station.

As a result, Lytras will now be tried in a Single-Member Misdemeanor Court rather than a Mixed Jury Court.

Seven suspects arrested over arson attacks on synagogue and hotel
The Hellenic Police's antiterrorist unit arrested seven people for allegedly conducting arson attacks against a synagogue and a hotel, it was announced on Thursday.
Four individuals are accused of an arson attack against a hotel on May 15, while the other three are accused of an attack against a synagogue on June 18.

Train officials released on bail
Two officials from state-owned Hellenic Railways have been released after testifying before an examining magistrate but had to pay large sums for bail.
The two are among those being investigated by the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) over a contract for the upgrade of the railways' signaling system and remote control.

Court releases man who paid girl (16) for sex pending appeal
A court in Thessaloniki has sentenced a 49-year-old man to four years in prison after finding him guilty of paying a 16-year-old girl to engage in a sexual act with him.
However, the man was released on bail pending an appeal.
According to the case file, the minor lived in an orphanage but she engaged in sex work when let out.
Third ERGOSE official released on bail in Tempe crash probe
The third defendant to testify before the European Public Prosecutor's Greek representative on Tempe-related contract 717 has been released on bail of €700,000.
The defendant, who was an official at ERGOSE, the projects branch of Hellenic Railways (OSE), is also banned from leaving the country.
