President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has stressed the urgent need to immediately open the Zangezur corridor and achieve a comprehensive peace agreement in order to facilitate normalization between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

While voicing Turkey's support for ongoing peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said it's time to open a new page in the South Caucasus to build the future together by taking lessons from the pains suffered in the past.

Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Azerbaijani counterpart has jointly inaugurated a new airport in the recently liberated area from the Armenian occupation.      

Erdoğan is the first head of state to land at Fuzuli International Airport, Azerbaijan's first airport in the area recently liberated from Armenia.

Forest fires are a global threat just like the COVID-19 pandemic, Turkey's president said on Aug. 4.

The whole world is currently facing this challenge, which is like a "terrorist threat," Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in a live television interview.

He said 187 forest fires have erupted in Turkey in the past eight days, with 15 of them yet to be put out.

Among the new cooperation projects in the field of the defense industry between Turkey and Azerbaijan are unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UAVs), which have proven their capabilities after being used in several recent regional conflicts such as the Nagorno-Karabakh war.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 31 said he plans to visit Shusha, the symbolic city of Karabakh liberated last year from the Armenian occupation.

"We hope that we will have a new holiday in Shusha as soon as possible by visiting Shusha after Eid al-Fitr," Erdoğan said, addressing the Turkic Council Presidents Summit with a live link.

Turkey has denounced the Armenian army's call for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stressing it is against military coups everywhere in the world.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President İlham Aliyev exchanged a phone conversation on the latest developments in Nagorno-Karabakh and after a Moscow meeting between Aliyev and Armenian President Nikol Pashinyan upon the invitation of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
