Partizan lose to AEK in FIBA Basketball Champions League
ATHENS - Partizan Belgrade lost 91-81 (22-14, 20-19, 20-29, 27-19) to AEK Athens on the road in their FIBA Basketball Champions League Group E, Round 6 game late Wednesday.
Dusan Sakota led the Greek team with 19 pts, with William Hatcher scoring 18 pts for Partizan.
It was the third defeat in the competition for Partizan, who will host Italy's Sassari next Tuesday.
Green hoopsters recover to beat Aris away
Panathinaikos shook off the two defeats within 48 hours in the Euroleague last week to beat host Aris in the Basket league on Monday and remain one point behind leaders Olympiakos and AEK.
Led by birthday-boy Chris Singleton (16 points), Panathinaikos overcame the Champions League challenger with a 71-59 score in what traditionally is one of the trickiest trips for the Athens giants.

Olympiakos prevail over archrivals Panathinaikos in Euroleague (video)
Olympiakos won the Greek derby against Panathinaikos (79-77) in the Euroleague away from home, and moved to 5 losses 3 wins, with the greens falling to 4 wins and 4 losses. The match was a thriller, with the lead changing hands on many occasions.

Olympiakos came from behind (76-72) in the end to defeat archrival and host Panathinaikos 79-77 after a spectacular all-Greek encounter for the Euroleague at the Olympic Sports Hall on Friday. The winner has moved on to a 5-3 record, while Panathinaikos is on four wins in eight games.

Greeks and Spaniards share the spoils in Euroleague
The Euroleague battles between the Greek and the Spanish giants ended 1-1 on Wednesday, with home advantage making the difference in the victories of Olympiakos over Barcelona (59-52) and of Real Madrid over Panathinaikos (87-84).
Aris poses no problems to Olympiakos
Olympiakos emerged victorious from its challenge at Aris in Thessaloniki on Monday and remained tied at the top of the Basket League table with AEK, victor of Rethymo at home on Saturday.
Captain Vassilis Spanoulis distributed 11 assists and Olympiakos returned with a 70-63 triumph from one of its most difficult games on the road this season in the league.

Two more victories this week for the Greeks
Olympiakos and Panathinaikos improved their Euroleague record to 3-1 after the Reds triumphed at Baskonia in Spain and the Greens saw off visiting Red Star Belgrade in Athens.
Olympiakos defeated Baskonia 95-90 on Thursday for its first away win in the new Euroleague after a tight as well a spectacular game.

Five wins out of five for Greeks in Europe
The first part of the so-called "double-header" in the new Euroleague, with all teams playing twice within two days, produced a double Greek victory as Olympiakos defeated Armani Milano in Piraeus and Panathinaikos snatched victory from Bamberg in Germany.

Greens all but upset CSKA in Moscow, as Reds thrash Efes
Panathinaikos, playing without a head coach, very nearly upset Euroleague favorite CSKA Moscow to go down by four in the end on Friday, while Olympiakos thrashed Turkey's Efes Anadolu by 24 on Thursday for its first win in the new Euroleague.
Pappas attacks TV bosses, ND in wake of Council of State decision
A day after the Council of State upheld appeals lodged by six TV channels against a government auction of broadcasting permits, State Minister Nikos Pappas said Greece's left-led administration would not yield to pressure coming from "vested interests."
