Slovenia’s EuroBasket hopes dashed

Slovenia lost the first two games at the European Women Basketball Championship, ruining their prospects to make it to the quarter-finals for the first time, the goal at what is their fourth EuroBasket to date.

The team lost against Germany 62:66 at Stožice Arena in Ljubljana on 16 June and 71:76 against Great Britain on 15 June, when the event opened.

Ljubljana/Laško – Pivovarna Laško Union, Slovenia’s largest brewery, last year generated EUR 145.6 million in net sales revenue, up 6.9% year-on-year, with the company attributing the drop to the Covid-19 epidemic. Net profit decreased by 31.5% to EUR 16.7 million, shows the annual report published on Wednesday.

Jokic best young player in ABA League

BELGRADE - Mega Leks basketball player Nikola Jokic has been proclaimed the best young player in the ABA League in the 2014-2015 season, the League published on its website on Tuesday.

This was Jokic's second year in the ABA league, and he was named the most valuable player in the regular part of this regional tournament.
