The Maria Callas Museum (44 Mitropoleos) will pay homage to the brilliant soprano on the anniversary of her death in 1977 on September 15 by offering a free concert directly opposite the museum and reduced general admission to its exhibition spaces.

Strauss Gala | Thessaloniki | February 21
The Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra performs a tribute to Richard Strauss (1864-1949) with a concert of the German composer's Serenade for 13 Winds, Duet-Concertino for clarinet and bassoon, Metamorphosen, Study for 23 Solo Strings and Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks. The ensemble is conducted by Dimitris Botinis, with Spyros Mourikis on clarinet and Alexandros Oikonomou on bassoon.

Classical Festival | Molyvos | August 18 & 19
The 4th Molyvos International Music Festival, celebrating world-class classical music, comes to an end in the scenic traditional village of Molyvos on the island of Lesvos this weekend. The first concert on Saturday, August 18, takes place at the Mithymna Conference Center, starting at noon.

Bassoon to be able to be tuned after Turkish artists' work
The bassoon, a woodwind musical instrument with a history going back some 500 years, will be able to be tuned like many other instruments thanks to the work of two artists in Turkey who have developed a new design.
