Turkey laments fire in historic Ottoman mosque in Greece
The Turkish Foreign Ministry on March 22 expressed its sadness over the fire damage done to a nearly 600-year-old Ottoman era mosque in Greece.

A fire during restoration works has caused serious damage to a historic 15th century Ottoman mosque in Didymoteicho, northeastern Greece, local officials said on March 22.
"For the moment there is no indication that arson was involved," Nathanail Rigas, head fireman of the Thrace region bordering Turkey, told AFP.

Ottoman sultan portrait to be auctioned at Sotheby's
With a focus on artistic production under Islamic patronage, the sale of Arts of the Islamic World, which will take place on Oct. 19 at Sotheby's London, covers more than a thousand years of artwork spanning multiple continents.
A portrait by the school of Veronese, depicting the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I and dated 1580, will be auctioned for 150,000 pounds.
Ottoman Health Museum opens after renovation
Trakya University's European Museum Award-winning Sultan Bayezid II Külliye (social complex) Health Museum, located in the northwestern province of Edirne, has reopened after a one-and-a-half year restoration process. The restoration, sponsored by Turkish drug company Abdi ?brahim, had a cost of 2 million Turkish Liras.
