Baykar inks Türkiye’s largest-ever defense deal with Saudi Arabia

Turkish company Baykar has signed an agreement to provide its Bayraktar AKINCI unmanned combat aerial vehicles to Saudi Arabia, which Baykar CEO Haluk Bayraktar has called "the biggest defense and aviation export contract in the history of the Turkish Republic."

The agreement was inked during President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Saudi Arabia.

Kosovo acquires Baykar drone

Kosovo has recently become the latest country to acquire the Bayraktar TB2, Türkiye's first indigenous armed unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Baykar Technologies.

Kosovo's Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced the procurement of the drones, emphasizing that the investment in defense spending would "contribute to the safety of the nation."

Poles have so far raised about 14 of the 22.5 million zloty (4.6 million euros) needed to buy a Bayraktar TB-2 drone for Ukraine.

Turkish firm Baykar gifts drones to Ukraine

Turkish drone-manufacturer Baykar, which has President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son-in-law as one of its directors, offered three of its drones to the Ukrainian army on June 27. 

In a statement posted on Twitter, the company noted that a crowdfunding campaign had raised enough money to buy several of its TB2 UAVs "for Ukrainians to use in defence of their Homeland".

Azerbaijan to host Teknofest this May

Teknofest, one of the world's biggest aviation, space and technology festivals, will hold its first edition abroad in the Azerbaijani capital Baku in May.

The four-day event that is scheduled to take place between May 26 and May 29 will feature 10 technology competitions in fields such as rockets, agriculture, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Greece seeking ways to counter Turkish drones

The Greek government is looking for ways to counter Turkish drones, seeking anti-drone technologies from Israel as well as mulling diplomatic efforts.

Even though, it recently received six Rafale fighter jets from France, the acquisition of those airplanes did not ease Greece's concerns over Turkey's unmanned aerial vehicles and armed drones, according to the Greek media outlets.
