City of Belgrade lifts ban on nighttime sale of alcohol

The City of Belgrade has decided to lift a ban on sale of alcoholic beverages, including beer, and pyrotechnics from 22:00 until 06:00 CET.

This ban applied to stores and craft businesses. Councilors on Monday adopted the changes that will come into effect once they are published in the City of Belgrade Official Gazette in a week's time.

Beer exhibition in Athens

The exhibition “Zythognosia” dedicated to high quality beers is organised for a second consecutive year in Athens on October 17 and 18 at the multi-purpose venue ‘The Hub Events.’

The exhibition will host breweries and microbreweries from all over Greece and beers of high quality either imported or domestic.

Beer is a Bargain in the Balkans, Study Shows

Balkan people by and large are moderate beer drinkers compared to many nations in Europe. Paradoxically, however, beer in the Balkans is much more cheaper than in most of the rest of Europe, a recent study shows.

The average price for a 33 cl beer goes for a bargain price of only 1.97$ in Belgrade compared to $2.58 in Berlin, $3.85 in Barcelona and a thumping $4.52 in London.

Bookfest 10th edition to present over 1 ml volumes, 200 publishers

Over one million volumes and 200 publishers will be on display at the tenth edition of the International Book Fair Bookfest running over May 20-24 at the Bucharest Romexpo exhibition complex, the organizers inform in a release to AGERPRES on Monday.

Google’s autocomplete function has found various obsessions for the cost of things in different countries. Foor instance, while most people in North America are interested in the cost of a passport or patent, their European counterparts are mainly concerned with the price of living studying or beer, whereas in Africa its more about food, livestock and fuel.

New Cider Production Facility in Bulgaria to Stimulate Beer Market Segment

Nikolay Mladenov, CEO of one of Bulgaria's largest beer production companies - Zagorka, stated that Bulgaria has been chosen as a regional Balkan center of Heineken in the sector of cider production.

The brand Strongbow has already been introduced on the local market, while the project with a EUR 2 M investment involves a new distillation and bottling facility.
