No fans at Turkey-Latvia World Cup quals in Istanbul
March 30's 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier match between Turkey and Latvia in Istanbul will be played behind closed doors for public health reasons, said Turkish authorities on March 29.
Turkish Football Federation unveils COVID-19 guidelines
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) on May 29 released guidelines for the rest of the 2019-2020 football season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The new instructions will be applied to matches of Turkey's top two football divisions and the Turkish Cup as the football in the country will resume in June.
The football in the country was suspended in March due to COVID-19.
Government to allow closed-door services on Orthodox Holy Week
The government adopted on Monday a request by the Greek Orthodox Church to allow Easter services to be held behind closed doors without a congregation as of Palm Sunday on April 12.
The measure will be in place for one week, until April 20, which is the Orthodox Easter Monday.
Olympiakos fined for pitch invasion against Milan
Olympiakos was fined 90,000 euros following crowd trouble in its Europa League match against AC Milan last month.
UEFA sanctioned the Greek side on Friday over a pitch invasion, the setting-off of fireworks and blocked stairways during its 3-1 win over Milan on December 13 in Piraeus.
