4,000 judges and prosecutors dismissed, justice minister says

Some 4,000 judges and prosecutors have been dismissed as part of a probe against the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) since the July 15, 2016, coup attempt, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ said May 26.

"More than 4,000 judges and prosecutors were removed from the profession due to membership, contact or affiliation with FETÖ in the Turkish judiciary," Bozdağ said.

Who needs philosophy?

In our relations with Europe, are we rational and moderate or are we excessively sentimental? Maybe we should say epic/heroic instead of sentimental…

This longing should end, Turkish justice minister says on Erdoğan's return to party

Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ has commented on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's possible return to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), saying that "this longing has to end." 

Before being elected as president in 2014, Erdoğan was the leader of the AKP.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ have voiced their dissatisfaction with a statement released by the U.S. Embassy to Turkey regarding a phone call to one of the key figures of the July 15, 2016, failed coup attempt, six days after the thwarted uprising.
