Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the UN General Assembly, urging the international community to unite in ending the war with Russia. He emphasized the importance of upholding the UN Charter and Ukraine's right to self-defense, calling for cooperation with nations that share values of peace and sovereignty.

Russia said on Sunday that it had thwarted a "massive" Ukrainian drone attack by downing 158 drones across 15 regions, including two over the capital Moscow.

A coal-fired power plant near the city was reported hit, as was an oil refinery within the city boundaries.

Five people were killed and 46 wounded in a Ukrainian attack on the southwestern Russian city of Belgorod, according to local authorities quoted by Reuters. The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, stated that many of those injured in the attack were hospitalized.

Since Tuesday morning, there has been intense activity around Belgorod, near Russia’s southern border with Ukraine. Russian Telegram channels, citing their security service connections, report that Ukrainian forces are attempting an incursion, having already attacked a border station in the area.

Five civilians were killed, and 12 others were injured after Ukrainian forces shelled the town of Rakitnoye in Russia's Belgorod region, according to the region's governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov. Among the injured were three children, with nine people hospitalized, including a 16-year-old girl in intensive care.

The governor of Russia's Belgorod region has declared a state of emergency following recent attacks. The Russian defense ministry reported that over 100 drones and four tactical missiles fired from Ukraine were intercepted overnight, targeting several regions including Kursk.

On Monday morning, parts of Russia's Belgorod region were evacuated following statements from the region's governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov. He reported increased Ukrainian activity near the Krasnoyarsk border and announced that approximately 11,000 residents had been relocated to safer areas.

Russia announced today the evacuation of residents from part of the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine, due to a Ukrainian attack and in the context of an armed Ukrainian raid on the neighboring Russian region of Kursk.

Russian authorities have implemented a counter-terrorist operation regime in the Bryansk, Kursk, and Belgorod regions due to an elevated threat of sabotage and terrorism linked to Ukraine. These regions, which border Ukraine, have seen increased concerns over security as Ukrainian forces advance in the Kursk region.

Explosions have erupted once again in Russia's Belgorod region, accompanied by several fires following a missile alert, as reported by Russian Telegram channels.

Local authorities stated that air defenses successfully intercepted a missile. Russian officials attributed the shelling to the Ukrainian military.
