Martinovic: Parties from Vucic-led list must ensure majority

BELGRADE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) group in the parliament will unanimously back the proposal for Ana Brnabic to become the next PM, but its position is that the majority required to elect her must be ensured by other parties that were on the "Aleksandar Vucic - Serbia is Winning" electoral list, SNS whip Aleksandar Martinovic said Monday.

SNS would take over 50 pct in parliamentary elections - poll

Serbia's ruling Progressives (SNS) would win 53 pct of the vote if early parliamentary elections were held on Sunday, according to a poll published on Friday.

The Faktor Plus survey shows that the ruling Socialists (SPS) and the opposition Democrats (DS) would win 9.1 and 8.3 percent, respectively.

"Vucic should be ruling party's presidential candidate"

Cabinet minister and high ranking ruling SNS leader Zorana Mihajlovic says she "votes in favor" of Aleksandar Vucic becoming a presidential candidate.

Mihajlovic wants the prime minister and head of the SNS to run in the elections that should take place in the spring as the party's candidate, she told Belgrade daily Blic.
