New building of Belgrade's Prokop train station ceremonially opens
BELGRADE - The new building of the Belgrade Center train station at Prokop was opened on Friday at a ceremony also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
The building - as well as the station itself, whose construction began almost five decades ago - was opened on October 20, the day of Belgrade's liberation from Nazi occupation in WWII.
Reconstruction of rail line to Zagreb could start in 2019
BELGRADE - Reconstruction of the Belgrade-Zagreb rail line could begin in 2019, with works in Serbia to be worth around 250 mln euros, Serbian Deputy PM and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic said Wednesday.
he told reporters in Zemun the 412 km rail line was "another way we can connect with the region."
Relocation of Belgrade's main railway station begins
The Main Railway Station Belgrade Center in Prokop was opened to traffic on Tuesday, nearly 40 years after the start of its construction, Tanjug has reported.
It is expected that the complete relocation of the current main station, located in central Belgrade, to Prokop, will take about a year.
