Montenegro Drops Probe Into Journalist's Brutal Assault
Montenegro's prosecution on Monday closed the investigation into the attack on the journalist Tufik Softic who was assaulted outside his home in November 2007 and left with serious injuries.
The eight-year investigation was concluded with no results and no suspects indicted.
Montenegrin town to make Serbian president honorary citizen
The municipality of Berane in northern Montenegro has unanimously decided to declare Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic its honorary citizen.
The Podgorica-based daily Vijesti is reporting about this, noting that the initiative met with the support of all 35 councilors from the "Zdravo Berane" SNP-DF coalition, and those from the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
Germany Tells Montenegrins to Stay at Home
The German ambassador in Montenegro, Gudrun Steinacker, on Monday said Montenegrin citizens planning to live and work in Germany illegally will "certainly fail to succeed".
She said it was difficult to obtain accurate data on the number of citizens from the north of Montenegro who had gone to Germany to find jobs but noted that "a few thousand people are being mentioned in public.
