Ukrainian Drone Strike Downs Russian A-50 Aircraft

А Ukrainian drone strike on March 9th proved to be remarkably effective, damaging a Russian A-50 aircraft, a vital component of Russian intelligence operations. The strike targeted the aviation scientific research and development complex "Beriev" in Taganrog, Russia, a facility known for repairing A-50 aircraft.

The final blow was struck: Russian A-50s were ground down

First, a Ukrainian drone damaged an A-50 on the ground in Belarus last year. Subsequently, on January 14, a Ukrainian long-range missile shot down an A-50 over the Sea of Azov in southern Ukraine. Six weeks later, on February 23, in the same area, another Ukrainian missile destroyed the third A-50, writes Forbes.

Another A-50 will go down...

The Beriev A-50 aircraft, also known as the NATO "Mainstay", is an early warning and control aircraft used by Russia to monitor Ukrainian air defenses.
The plane usually flies with a crew of up to 15 staff and is estimated to cost over $300 million.
