Greek airports soar to record-breaking passenger traffic in 2024

Passenger traffic at airports across Greece surged during the first 11 months of 2024, setting a new record even before the year's end.

According to statistics from the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA), a total of 76,249,626 passengers traveled between January and November 2024, marking a 9.3% increase compared to 69,774,369 passengers during the same period in 2023.

Sky Express flights to Tirana 

SKY Express inaugurated a new direct service between Athens and Tirana earlier this month. The flights will take place every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

By the start of December, SKY Express will add new flights to Yerevan, Tbilisi, Istanbul, Prague, Vienna and Amsterdam, bringing the total of international destinations it serves throughout the year to 22. 

 

Sofia Airport to Close Multi-Storey Parking at Terminal 2 for Renovation

Sofia Airport will close the multi-storey parking facility at Terminal 2 due to reconstruction. In a statement to NOVA, airport officials announced that the facility will be closed to entry starting November 25. Vehicles currently parked there will be able to exit over the next two weeks, after which they will need to be towed to an impound lot.
