French biathletes win single mixed relay in Pokljuka
Pokljuka – France’s Antonin Guigonnat and Julia Simon are the winners of Thursday’s single mixed relay event as part of the Biathlon World Championships in Slovenia’s Pokljuka. The Slovenian pair of Jakov Fak and Polona Klemenčič were 13th.
The silver medal went to Johannes Thingnes Boe and Tiril Eckhoff of Norway, and Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson and Hanna Öberg won bronze.
Biathlon: Laegreid takes men’s individual tile
Pokljuka – Norway’s Sturla Holm Laegreid took his second gold at the Biathlon World Championship on Pokljuka on Wednesday, beating Germany’s Arnd Peiffer and compatriot Johannes Dale in the men’s individual event.

Men’s pursuit title goes to Jacquelin
French biathlete Emilien Jacquelin is the winner of Sunday’s pursuit race at the World Championships in Pokljuka. With a perfect shooting record, he clinched the title from Sweden’s Sebastian Samuelsson. Johannes Thingnes Bo of Norway won bronze.

Sweden’s Ponsiluoma wins men’s sprint event in Pokljuka
Pokljuka – Sweden’s Martin Ponsiluoma won the men’s sprint at the Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka on Friday in what was a surprising finish at the first individual event. Second and third places went to France’s Simon Desthieux and Emilen Jacquelin, respectively.

Anterselva – Slovenia’s Jakov Fak finished third in the men’s Biathlon World Cup mass start in Italy’s Anterselva on Sunday to announce good form ahead of the Biathlon World Championships, which will take place in Slovenia’s Pokljuka on 9-21 February.

For the first time, Bulgarian became the world vice champion in the biathlon. Vladimir Iliev won a silver medal in the 20 km individual discipline at the World Championship in Östersund, Sweden.
