Approximately 18,000 flamingos that hatched two months ago in the İzmir Bird Sanctuary, one of the world's leading artificial breeding islands, began to flap their wings in the "nursery" to fly.

Within the scope of a project to protect the stork population, efforts are being made to build artificial nests on electric poles in the Thrace region to prevent storks from getting electrocuted.

A stork's nest was placed atop the Column of Julian, which was known for hosting storks for years, by Ankara Social Studies University (ASBU) to encourage the famous birds to come.

Wild animals have entered the colony of Dalmatian Pelicans in Bulgaria's Srebarna Nature Reserve and have scared them. Video surveillance footage shows that an animal has eaten some of the eggs and the birds have moved.
