On Tuesday, President Klaus Iohannis penned a message on the unveiling and consecration in Bucharest of a bust of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis on Sunday said after three days spent in Romania that he leaves "enriched" because he will take with him places, moments and especially faces of those he met. "I arrived to this beautiful and welcoming country as pilgrim and brother, to life various meetings. Now I'm going back home enriched, taking with me places and moments, and especially faces.

Pope Francis told the rd 100,000 faithful gathered on Sunday in Blaj on the Liberty Field that he entrusts them to Virgin Mary to guide them "towards a future of a genuine progress and peace", and to building "a more and more righteous and fraternal homeland".

Pope Francis arrives on Sunday, the last day of his visit to Romania, in Blaj, where he will be holding the ceremony of beatification of seven martyred Greek-Catholic bishops on the Liberty Field, and also meet in the afternoon, in the "Barbu Lautaru" neighborhood, the Roma community in the same locality.

Pope Francis was welcomed at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace on Friday with full military honours by Romania's President Klaus Iohannis at a ceremony held on the Marinescu Plateau. Iohannis alongside his wife, Carmen, welcomed Pope Francis. The welcoming delegation comprised all presidential and state advisers.

Pope Francis begins on Friday a three-day apostolic visit to Romania, His Holiness being awaited by the authorities, hierarchs and pilgrims in Bucharest, Sumuleu-Ciuc, Iasi and Blaj.

Pope Francis's apostolic visit to Romania will be carried out between 31 May and 2 June, in Bucharest, Sumuleu Ciuc, Iasi and Blaj, the Presidential Administration informed on Monday. According to the quoted source, the Sovereign Pontiff will be in Bucharest on 31 May, on 1 June he will tour Sumuleu Ciuc and Iasi and on 2 June he will be in Blaj.

Bosch Group will open this year in Blaj, where the company has three factories, a research-development centre for automotive technology, with the total number of Bosch employees in the town of Blaj to be over 1,500 by the year's end.
