Outbreak of African Plague in Feral Pigs near the Border of Bulgaria
In connection with a new outbreak of African swine fever virus in feral pigs near the border of Bulgaria in Tulcea, Romania, the Executive Agency for Forests calls on Bulgarian hunters to strictly observe the preventive measures imposed to reduce the spread of the disease, the agency said.
Bullfighting to be held for first time nationally in Turkey
Traditional bullfighting, which has been ongoing for 200 years in the eastern Black Sea province of Artvin, will be held for the first time nationally under name "Turkey's Bullfighting Championship" on Aug. 13.
Spain's Constitutional Court Annuls Catalonia's Corrida Ban
Spain's Constitutional Court has annulled the ban on traditional bullfighting which was introduced by local authorities in the northeastern region of Catalonia, reported AFP.
In its statement, the court argued that bullfighting is part of the Spanish heritage which can only be banned by a decision of the central government in Madrid and not by the regional government in Catalonia.
Hunter faces Kalamata prosecutor after shooting friend
A 32-year-old man faced a prosecutor in Kalamata, in the Peloponnese, on Wednesday on charges of causing grievous bodily harm after he shot a friend, 43, while the pair had been hunting in the region of Kalohori.
The pair had been hunting wild boar when the younger man accidentally injured his friend with two shots, to the stomach and collarbone.
