Council of State: Appeal by patients dependent on transfusions – They say “no” to blood donations from homosexual & hypersexual individuals

 

The Council of State is tasked with deciding whether individuals who have had at least one homosexual relationship since 1977, as well as those who have had multiple sexual partners without the consistent use of condoms in the past decade, can be blood donors.

Chinese community in Greece closes ranks to help cancer patient

The Chinese expat community in Greece has come together to help a 22-year-old man from China suffering from acute leukaemia, while his father is also terminally ill with cancer.

Lin Qinglin, the 22-year-old hailing from Fujian, is in serious condition and his treatment requires repeated blood transfusions.

The Blood Transfusion Center "Colonel Professor dr. Nicolae Nestorescu'', located inside the Central Military Emergency Hospital Dr.Carol Davila, is hosting on Monday, in partnership with the Romanian Patriarchate, a blood donation activity to mark World Blood Donor Day.

Blood plasma collection starts to treat COVID-19-infected patients

A blood plasma collection campaign for treating patients infected with the novel coronavirus started on Tuesday morning in Romania, and the first three plasma collections from COVID-19-cured donors took place at the Bucharest Blood Transfusion Centre. The Health Ministry (MS) says the plasma will be tested and after biological certification it will be made available to hospitals.
