A nearly 3,300-year-old bone ornament found during the archaeological excavation in the ancient city of Hattusha in the Boğazkale district of Çorum is now on display at the Boğazkale Museum.

Archaeological excavations at the 8,000-year-old ancient city of Hattusha in the Boğazkale district of Çorum, which started 118 years ago, are continuing this year with the participation of academics from various disciplines.

Excavations that started 116 years ago in the ancient city of Hattusa, once the capital of the Hittite Empire and inscribed on the "Memory of the World List" of UNESCO, are still ongoing.

Considered a "unique" work by the archaeology world, a 3,600-year-old fist-shaped drinking bowl is one of the three ancient drinking bowls discovered over the years in the archaeological excavations in Hattusha, the capital of the Hittite Civilization.

Two wounded stray dogs found near the archaeological excavation area of Hattusha, the capital of the Hittite civilization in the Boğazkale district of Çorum, have been adopted by the excavation committee.

A Hittite village is under construction for the promotion of the archaeological site of Hattusha, which had been the Hittite capital for 450 years, in the central Anatolian province of Çorum's Boğazkale district. 

A local member of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the Black Sea province of Çorum was forced to resign on Dec. 5 after a renowned Turkish journalist complained about harassment and insult targeting her on Twitter.

I recently visited Çorum with a group of friends to see and to learn about the history of Anatolia. But this time I returned from Çorum, which I have visited countless times before, with sadness. 

The Central Anatolian province of Çorum, which is home to the Hittite capital Hattusha and the ancient site of Alacahöyük, Turkey's first national excavation field, expects to host half a million tourists a year after work carried out by the Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Çorum Governor's Office is completed. 

A Hittite village will be established in the Central Anatolian province of Çorum's Boğazkale in an effort to provide a taste of the ancient past.
