The Body Issue

ESPN sports magazine is celebrating the human body and diversity by photographing naked athletes for a seventh consecutive year. The artistic photos shows athletes cloth less doing their sports. The photographic concept is titled “Bodies we want” and aims to praise the beauty of the fit human body and promote healthy role models to youth”.

The naked human body was not something to be ashamed of in ancient Greece. As the magnificent classical sculptures and beautiful vase paintings show us it was revered and unabashedly displayed. Athletes would run naked during the Olympics.
