In a display of skill and leadership, Greece's Chief of General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, jumped from a CH-47D Chinook helicopter during a static line parachute exercise off the coast of Nea Peramos near Megara in Attica.

The Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff General Konstantinos Floros participated in airborne exercises on Monday. The general parachuted from a Chinook CH-47D before landing at sea near the town of Nea Peramos according to a release by the Greek military.

The military parade commemorating the 202nd anniversary of Greece's War of Independence from the Ottoman empire got underway in central Athens Saturday morning.

Taking part in the parade are members of the armed forces, including military academy students, as well as police.
