Greek army chief participates in military airdrop exercises
The Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff General Konstantinos Floros participated in airborne exercises on Monday. The general parachuted from a Chinook CH-47D before landing at sea near the town of Nea Peramos according to a release by the Greek military.
Military parade marks War of Independence anniversary
The military parade commemorating the 202nd anniversary of Greece's War of Independence from the Ottoman empire got underway in central Athens Saturday morning.
Taking part in the parade are members of the armed forces, including military academy students, as well as police.

Acquittal proposed for suspects in Chinook arms deal
A prosecutor in a three-member appeals court in Athens on Wednesday recommended the acquittal of four suspects tried in connection with the procurement of Chinook military helicopters more than twenty years ago, citing lack of incriminating evidence.
Greece takes delivery of US helicopters
Greece on Friday took delivery of 70 OH-58D Kiowa Warrior armed scout helicopters and one CH-47 Chinook transport helicopter from the US Army.
The aircraft were delivered at Volos Port in central Greece and the process was overseen by Chief of the Army General Staff, Lieutenant-General Georgios Kambas.

Photos released of Greek PM aboard Chinook harassed by Turk jets
Photos released Wednesday reportedly depict Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras as Turkish fighter jets attempted to harass the Chinook helicopter transporting him to the eastern Aegean island of Agathonisi Monday.
The images, which were posted on Militaire.gr website, were reportedly shot by the photographer accompanying the prime minister during his trip.
PM's helicopter forced to take evasive action from Turkish fighters in the Aegean
Turkish fighter jets attempted Monday to harass the helicopter transporting Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras to the eastern Aegean island of Agathonisi. They were intercepted by Greek fighters and never got very close, but the helicopter still had to take evasive action.
