BELGRADE - A Serbian sapper unit conducted a controlled detonation of a World War II-era aerial bomb in Belgrade on Sunday, the Serbian Interior Ministry said.

"The aerial bomb was successfully defused," the ministry said in a statement.

An explosive device was discovered in a backpack outside the entrance of the Labor Ministry on Stadiou street, central Athens early on Monday, after an anonymous call to Efymerida ton Syntakton newspaper at 1.20 a.m. warned that a bomb would go off after 40 minutes.

Bomb disposal experts were called to the scene and subsequently detonated the device in three controlled explosions.

Experts believe that the explosive device that destroyed the Russian Airbus A321 over the Sinai on October 31 was either under seats 31A or 30A. This means that Maria Ivleva, a 15-year-old beautiful innocent girl, may have been the first to perish in the plane tragedy.

A bomb threat caused evacuation of citizens, magistrates and judicial officials from the Palace of Justice in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia on Monday.

Around 12:30 EET an anonymous signal was submitted, informing of an explosive device planted in the building, private bTV station informs.

Security forces seized a total of 4.5 kilograms of explosive material placed inside a pressure cooker under a suspension bridge in Istanbul on Oct. 8.

A bomb threat necessitated the evacuation of the building of the Bulgarian Presidency in Sofia on Friday.

A car laden with a bomb was detonated with a huge blast in the southeastern province of Batman - just as bomb disposal experts were working at the scene. No injuries were reported after the blast.
