Three Kathimerini journalists were presented with awards by the Botsis Foundation for the Promotion of Journalism at a ceremony at Athens' Zappeion Hall, on Monday evening.

The country is very vulnerable to gossip, conspiracy theories, our wild political passions, and our creaking institutions. Politicians, instead of governing or seriously preparing to govern, are constantly looking at their cell phones to read the latest snarky comment or gossip.

Kathimerini’s website (www.kathimerini.gr) received another award on Wednesday.

The site’s editor, Galateia Vourvouli, was given an award by the Botsis Institution for the Promotion of Journalism for her work in promoting multimedia reports through the revamped website.
