Three gored at Pamplona’s fifth bull run

An American and two Spaniards were gored on July 10 during a danger-filled fifth bull run of Spain's famed running of the bulls through the cobblestoned streets of Pamplona.

The bulls broke into separate groups, and one of them trailed behind the rest, making the course extra unpredictable for runners trying to scamper out of their way.

Ghostly monkey among 224 new Mekong region species

A monkey with ghostly white circles around its eyes is among 224 new species listed in the World Wildlife Fund's latest update on the greater Mekong region.

The conservation group's report, released on Jan. 26, highlights the need to protect the rich biodiversity and habitats in the region, which includes Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar.

The aurochs, the large species of wild cattle which is the ancestor of today's domestic cattle, survived in today's Bulgaria well into the 13th-14th century when it was still hunted for meat, bones recently found in the large fortress Rusocastro in Southeast Bulgaria have demonstrated.

Bison Dies in Sofia Zoo

A bison was found dead on Monday morning at the Sofia Zoo, authorities say.

This is the seventh similar incident in less than ten days, with a baby capricorn and a yak having died last week and a camel and three gaurs the previous one.

Prior to its death the bison had been ill, according to information quoted by private national channel bTV.
