ZAGREB -- Branimir Glavas, who has recently been released from prison, has paid to promote "a campaign of hate speech" on Facebook.

Former general Branimir Glavas will stay outside prison while awaiting a new trial before Croatia's Supreme Court.

The former general, who served a four-year sentence in Bosnia for crimes commited in Croatia's independence war, has returned his hometown of Osijek to await a fresh trial.

BELGRADE - President of the Coalition of Refugee Associations in Serbia Miodrag Linta said Wednesday that the decision of the County Court of Zagreb to cancel the arrest warrant for the convicted war criminal Branimir Glavas, who was recently released from prison, is a new insult to Serb victims in Croatia.

Zagreb county court made the ruling on Tuesday, clearing the way for Glavas to return from Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he was released from jail last week.

Glavas's Facebook page posted the decision to revoke the arrest warrant on Tuesday with a picture showing a man breaking free of chains and the word "Freedom".

Release of Glavas "insult to Serb victims"
