Mark Margolis, who played the sinister, wheelchair-bound cartel don Hector Salamanca in acclaimed TV shows "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul," has died aged 83, his family said on Aug. 4.

Margolis died on Aug. 3 at a New York hospital following a short illness, with his wife and son at his bedside, according to a statement.

A "Breaking Bad" film set after the events of the hit television show and centered on meth addict-turned-cook Jesse Pinkman will be released on Netflix in October, the streaming giant said on Aug. 24.
