A code orange for dangerous weather with heavy rainfall is in effect today for 15 areas of Bulgaria. This shows a reference on the website of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology.
These are Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Lovech, Sofia region, Sofia city, Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.
Bulgarians celebrate Children's Day
Today is June 1 - Children's Day. The holiday dates back to the World Conference on Children's Health, held in Geneva in 1925.
24 years later, the day was officially declared International Children's Day. And in 1950, June 1 was celebrated simultaneously in 51 countries around the world for the first time.

COVID-19 in Bulgaria: 122 New Cases in the Last 24 hours
122 are the newly registered cases of Covid-19 in Bulgaria for the last 24 hours, with 2,039 tests performed.
There are 279 hospitalized patients with coronavirus, of which 34 are in intensive care units.
In 2022 the Population of Bulgaria Shrank by 34,774 People
30,181 fewer people died in Bulgaria in 2022 compared to 2021, when the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic was here. This is shown by the data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI). However, the total number of the population of Bulgaria decreased by 34,774 people in just one year and on December 31, 2022 it was 6,447 million. For every 1,000 men there are 1,080 women.
Bulgaria: A Man threw himself in front of a Train and Died
A man threw himself in front of a train locomotive and died.
The tragedy happened at 8:15 a.m. this morning at the Kaloyanovets - Stara Zagora interchange, on route 2. It was reported by the National Railway Infrastructure Company.
Police and an Emergency Medical Service team are on the scene.
Trains have been suspended on both tracks.
Bulgarian Railways will provide over 12,700 additional Seats on Trains for the Easter Holidays

Bomb Threats again in Many Bulgarian Schools
The hacker attack continues - for the fourth day, schools in Bulgaria are receiving reports of planted explosive devices. Today, threatening emails about planted explosive devices were received in dozens of schools in Varna, Dobrich, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Sofia and Stara Zagora.

Bulgaria launches terrorism probe after wave of hoax bomb alerts
Bulgarian prosecutors are launching a terrorism investigation after dozens of schools across the country received hoax bomb threats, local news agency BTA reported on Tuesday.

Officers from the Main Directorate "Fighting Organized Crime" are working with two partner services on guidelines for a possible person involved in the bomb threats who is outside the territory of Bulgaria.
This was stated by the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Petar Todorov, in Plovdiv.
