Bulgarian protests against the first Borisov cabinet

Bulgarian police officers and employees of the special services (SANS) made a surprise inspection in the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC), trying to understand the reason for the high electricity prices on the energy exchange.

More than 40 percent of Bulgarians expect that there will be no landslide winner in the upcoming parliamentary elections, they rather think that several parties will have close results. In this situation, an equal number of people are to form governing coalitions with the political formations garnering the most votes - GERB and BSP.

According to a survey by Alpha Research polling agency, at the end of December 48% of the Bulgarians said they would vote in the European elections. Every second from the rest will either not vote or has not yet decided how to proceed. The survey was conducted from 14 to 19 December among a nationally representative sample of 1,027 adult Bulgarians, reports BNT. 

Citizens gathered in a protest-educational reading before the Council of Ministers.

The reason is that on November 15, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov gave a bTV interview from his cabinet and it was seen that his library had no books but only framed pictures.

Although they did not attract more than a few hundred people each, latest protests over the fuel prices drew alarmed reactions from the governing coalition on Monday.

Bulgarians from over 30 towns and cities took to the streets and blocked roads on Sunday to protest over rising fuel prices and changes to vehicle transport legislation.

Korean company active in the automotive sector is interested in investing in Bulgaria. It is a company that is a leader in the production of car components, according to an official announcement of the Ministry of Economy after a meeting of the Deputy Minister Lachezar Borisov with representatives of the company, reports Money.bg

"I am proud that we have reduced the external debt by BGN 2.3 billion. I am ashamed to have been unable to present the Istanbul Convention so as to convince the public that we had to accept it, like most countries in Europe. " Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said this morning on Nova TV.

The Russian Ambassador in Bulgaria, Anatoly Makarov, told Nova TV that the Bulgarian reaction to calling the Bulgarian ambassador from Moscow is understandable and correct. According to him, national interests should not be forgotten because of solidarity. Makarov added that Russia has always been and will be a reliable partner of Bulgaria and the European Union.

''I welcome the strategy adopted by the European Commission for the Western Balkans. It clearly declares the desire Europe to become a continent of stability, security and prosperity.'' This is stated by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the government's press service announced.

3/4 of GERB's sympathizers believe that Bulgaria is prepared for the event, the opposite opinion dominates among the supporters of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, shows a poll of 24chasa.
